September 1, 2004 — Englishtown, NJ — Extreme Broadband's new Infinity Premise™ System is a whole new line of broadband Premise Amplifiers and external Modules having built-in advantages not currently available anywhere else. The fully integrated family of components is designed to eliminate the use of jumper cables between the amplifier and traditional splitters, thus saving installation time and labor cost while improving system reliability. An estimated 30 - 60% of in-home service calls are related to intermittent connectors and jumpers. By eliminating the jumper interface, fewer connections are necessary, thereby reducing in-home service calls and reducing the chances of common path distortion (CPD).

The key to the new Infinity Premise System is the unique external splitter module. This very unique approach allows true flexibility. The broadband provider only needs to stock 1-output amplifiers and external modules. This lowers inventory cost versus stocking 1-, 2- and 4-ouput amplifiers. By simply changing the splitter module, the number of amplifier outputs can be increased from 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4 outputs. Also, a 5-42 MHz reverse amplifier module is available. All modules feature a new FIC™ port that interfaces to the Infinity Premise amplifier without the need for a jumper.

System flexibility extends to subscribers with previously installed traditional splitters. The model IPA1001FIC has a unique FIC™ output port that allows the amplifier to interface with a previously installed traditional splitter, also without using a jumper.

The Infinity Premise System incorporates a new grounding system designed to provide uniform contact pressure, a more secure fit, and better surface contact for an extremely reliable in-field installation. The unique Infinity Premise Amplifier, Splitter modules and Reverse modules are patent pending. Extreme Broadband anticipates launching this new product line for delivery in late 2004.
