May 16, 2007 — Extreme Broadband Engineering LLC is pleased to introduce its new patented Infinity Premise™ VoIP/Cable Modem Module. The Model IPMM VoIP/Cable Modem Module connects to the input of the drop amplifier to provide direct passive access to the cable network. This protects the data service from interruption due to a power outage in the home, and is particularly useful for VoIP. The patented FIC-port™ on the Module – a unique feature of the Infinity Premise System™ family of products – connects directly to the input of the Premise amplifier without the need for a jumper cable. The passive output VoIP/Cable Modem port provides the full CATV spectrum.

The unique housing configuration allows the Module to be easily rotated 180° or installed vertically depending on the space constraints of the installation. The model IPMM01 Series provides 1-passive port for either VoIP or Cable Modem service. The Model IPMM02 provides 1-VoIP passive port and 1-Cable Modem passive port.

The Extreme Broadband Cable Modem module is a perfect solution to a recent FCC ruling that requires certain classes of VoIP providers to supply enhanced 911 (e911) emergency calling capabilities as a mandatory service feature. Since this ruling impacts cable operators, careful attention must be given to the VoIP/Cable Modem installation. The Model IPMM provides a dedicated VoIP/Cable Modem drop to ensure extremely reliable e911 service.
